Engagement in Boston
January 25th, 2011
Erika and Shane met me in Boston for their engagement shoot. Although both are from New York, Shane went to college here in Boston and has many friends here. Erika and Shane will be getting married on Cape Cod this summer. They’re planning a very intimate wedding. But in the meantime, they braved the cold and we had a fun adventure going from spot to spot taking in the sites, as well as photographing this lovely couple that are so in love with one another. It’s clear when you see the look in their eyes! They are soo in love!!

The Wedding Challenge
December 20th, 2010
I would like you to meet Denise and August, or Gus, as his friends call him. Denise and Gus meet at a well known night club in Boston. He couldn’t keep his eyes off of her, so he went over and asked her to dance. Now, six years later, Gus surprised Denise early one morning, while Denise was getting ready for work. Gus was singing, “It’s been a long time coming” by Sam Cooke, while holding a jewelry box. The song was very fitting. Then Gus got down on one knee and asked Denise is she would become Mrs. Babtiste:0) Denise, 0f course, said, “Yes!”
What did you do to make your wedding more unique?
In lieu of flowers at the guests tables, I did mazanita branches. Instead of table numbers, Denise had words, such as, Love, Hope, and Trust at the guests tables. In lieu of wedding favors, Denise and Gus made a donation to St. Jude’s Hospital. St. Jude’s Hospital then made scrolls for Denise to give to her guests.
What was your favorite and funniest moment of your wedding day?
Gus forgot to give the best man the wedding rings at the wedding rehersal. Denise was a little disappointed, but the ceremony had to begin. They had borrowed rings from a family member, but as the ring exchange began, Gus’s cousin came running into the church with the real rings. Unknowingly, Gus’s cousing had run back to the house and made it back to the church just in the nick of time! It meant the world to both the bride and groom. Their priest, while laughing, had Gus and Denise, do the ring exchange again, with the REAL rings!! “I bless, these REAL rings!” Gus began the ring exchange for a 2nd time, saying, “I, August, give you your REAL ring…” All the guests were laughing. It really eased some of the tension that comes with a wedding ceremony.
Vendors that Denise and Gus hired are…
David’s Bridal for the Bride’s gown and bridesmaid’s dresses.
Men’s Wearhouse for the Groom’s and groomsmen tuxedo’s.
Domingas Prior in Brockton was the Florist.
Atlantic Airport Limo Service
